and Hurley continues to be the voice of the fanbase (btw, have you discovered Geronimo Jack's Beard yet? great stuff!)

Also, good Miles stuff, I thought - I am one of the few who lurved the Paolo/Niki show, so I appreciated the reference. I love the meta.

Nice to see more sides of Richard, stellar acting by Carbonell, and the scene with Ilana/Ben - just hand the man his Emmy now, please.

I don't know, dude, I guess I have just lost my interest in this show b/c everyone's all rah rah about this episode and I could barely convince myself to finish watching it. Bored now.

OTOH, Emerson is on Human Target. so you know you could get a tiny bit of your Pushing Daisies fix in a very Jason Bourne-type hour. Also they tend to have really good guest stars, people from BSG and Firefly among them, and this week the scary dude from Sons of Anarchy.

Jodi, I was thinking the same thing about Michael and trying to fit it in
somehow. But I think it also holds with what Richard says (or implies) --
Michael had been trying to kill himself and failing. Tom told him the island
wouldn't let him die -- maybe that's all Tom knew, since it seems as though
every one of the Others were acting on Jacob's orders without understanding
why, and even those in the first ranks only got the promise that they'd
understand some day. And when Michael died, well, he didn't blow himself up.
The C4 was put there and rigged by Keamy -- it wasn't Michael's design. I
don't really get why Christian shows up and tells Michael "You can go now,"
but other than that, it doesn't contradict this new knowledge.

And yeah, they are repeating a lot of dialogue and Lostisms -- that was one
of my problems with Hurley in that one episode. The one thing that saves
that line of Miles is that he's clearly (or at least to me) mocking Ben as
he says it.

Another thing: don't they seem to be repeating a lot of dialogue lately? Sayid's "I am not a zombie" reappears in this episode as Richard's "I am not a cyborg". And both in this episode, Ben "He (Sayid) was standing over the bodies holding a bloody dagger, so yeah, I'm sure"; Miles "He (Ben) was standing over the body holding a bloody knife, so yeah, I'm sure". What, did all but one of the writers get laid off?

Generally I think they're way too heavy-handed with the Sideways World stuff (I'm still trying to shed my disgust at "I don't deserve you"). But I did laugh out loud at the Napoleon thing, and it made me happy to have that right off the top of the episode because it let me know that whatever was about to happen to Ben in islandtime, he wasn't going to bite it. I swear if Ben dies I'll quit this show.

My other laugh out loud moment was seeing Roger "Workman" Linus on oxygen. The episode where Roger dies (along with the rest of the DI) was the first episode I ever saw.

Something else that's bugging me now: remember how Michael couldn't kill himself and Tom said it was because the island wouldn't let him? I don't remember Jacob ever touching Michael. But, also, didn't Michael later kill himself on the freighter? How did he manage that, then?
