This picture cracks me up.
Things to note:
1. That is indeed the Grand Forks Herald I am “reading.”
2. The topmost headline of the paper reads “New murder trial granted by court for double slayer.” Just in case you, like many people I know, were under the impression that the Midwest, and North Dakota in particular, were somehow free of heinous crime.
3. That said, one of the headlines circulating via Flash on the GF Herald’s website TODAY is “Some work in the heat every day.”
4. My mom had the habit of writing captions on the back of each photo. Comments she thought were funny but really aren’t. There are some seriously dorky captions on photos I’ll upload later, but this photo oddly has no caption. This surprises me, because hello! Adorable one-year-old adorably reading the newspaper? If anything was ripe for dorky comments, THIS WOULD BE IT.
But I guess mom figured the photo itself was dorky enough.

ok, so, what's the definition of 'dork', then?
When I was at my mom's a few weeks ago, I found a bunch of pictures of myself around this age “reading” books VERY intently (and adorably). Mean mommy wouldn't let me have them, but she's supposedly making copies.
Well, whatever the definition may be, I'm sure this picture is right there
next to it.
